There’s a number of new smartphones unveiled in CES 2012. I’m going to talk of some of them here briefly. Those are Samsung Exhilarate, Samsung Galaxy SII Skyrocket HD, Samsung Galaxy Nexus LTE, and HTC Titan II.

At least, Samsung has introduced three smartphones in CES 2012. Two of them come under AT&T’s banner: the Samsung Exhilarate and the Samsung Galaxy SII Skyrocket HD. Another phone, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus LTE runs on Sprint’s carrier.

Talking of their specifications, it’s clear enough that the Exhilarate is the lowest of those three whilst the Galaxy SII Skyrocket HD takes the top position (See the table below). Unfortunately, till I write this post, their specs have not been unveiled completely yet. We’ll see later.

New HTC Phones 2012

We’ve ever seen the HTC Titan in the last quarter of 2011. And in CES 2012, HTC introduces the Titan II. Both devices physically look quite similar. Both specs are also not too far different. There are certainly some improvements in the HTC Titan II, which include upgrading rear-facing camera (I: 8; II: 16 MP) and battery (I: 1650 mAh; II: 1730 mAh).

December 9th, 2011 by Dinhie | No Comments | Filed in HTC, New Release Tablets and Smartphones, Samsung

HTC Titan vs Samsung Focus S 4G

This comparison was made up from twelve aspects: display, thickness, weight, OS, processor, RAM, internal storage capacity, camera, data network and wireless connection, available ports, battery, and price.

The HTC Titan won the battle at the points of larger display’s size, a bit more powerful processor, DLNA support, and cheaper starting price. In the other side, we saw that the Samsung Focus S 4G served the superiority in the sense of display quality, thickness, weight, and RAM. The other aspects showed draw.

See the following table for the comparison details!

So, which one better? Of course, it’s up to you to decide. Undoubtedly, both the HTC Titan and the Samsung Focus S 4G are really great Windows Phones. Both have the large screen, slim body, light weight, high processor, best phone camera, 4G support, quad band GSM, and large battery size. It’s quite fair that the Samsung Focus S 4G is priced more expensive at the start, for its Super AMOLED Plus and higher RAM. The reason is also clear to choose the HTC Titan.

You can go to Amazon for more information about and proceeding to buy the HTC Titan and the Samsung Focus S 4G. One thing to note, both phones are under AT&T carrier. So if the carrier is not suitable for your area, you’d better to check out the other new smartphones.

HTC Amaze 4G: Features, Specs, Price, and Comparison to Samsung Galaxy SII

October 27th, 2011 by Dinhie | No Comments | Filed in HTC, T-Mobile

The HTC Amaze 4G for T-Mobile is a high-end Android smartphone released in October 2011. Fast, beautiful, high resolution, and awesome camera feature this device. This is undoubtedly one of the best T-Mobile 4G phones right now.

HTC Amaze 4G Specs and Features

The HTC Amaze 4G is sized at 5.1 x 2.6 x 0.5 inch and weighs 6.1 ounces. It has 4.3 inch display (256 ppi), powered by 1.5 GHz dual-core Scorpion processor with Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 chipset. The Amaze also comes with 16 GB internal storage, 1 GB RAM, and equipped with dual camera (rear: 8 MP, video 1080 p; front: 2 MP), Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, DLNA, and 1730 mAh Lithium Ion battery.

The HTC Amaze 4G runs Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread with HTC Sense UI 3.0. Sense adds a number of useful and attractive features to the Gingerbread, such as jumping to popular apps from the lock screen and address book which looks better and easier to use than the standard Android apps. The interesting features include SweepShot that allows you to capture easily panoramic shots by sweeping the camera horizontally, and BurstShot that allows you to capture multiple photos in quick succession.

HTC Amaze 4G vs Samsung Galaxy S II (T-Mobile)

There’s another T-Mobile’s 4G super smartphone which is released this October: the Samsung Galaxy S II 4G. Let’s make a brief comparison between the HTC Amaze 4G and the Samsung Galaxy SII!

The Samsung Galaxy SII (T-Mobile) has a little larger (4.5 inch), sharper (256 ppi), and brighter display that that of the HTC Amaze 4G.  It is the Super AMOLED Plus that makes this superiority. But in the other hand, we can say that the Amaze’s display is smoother and looks more natural.

As for the design, the Amaze’s back-side feels more solid and attractive. I give more stars for the HTC Amaze 4G  at this point.  The SII is also a bit thinner (0.4 inch) and heavier (4.9 ounces). Common people will prefer the thin and light. Unfortunately, you can’t get the device which is the thinner and lighter at the same time here.

Both devices have quite many similarities: OS, processor, cameras’ resolution, video, internal memory, RAM, network bands, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi, DLNA, HDMI, GPS, NFC, and others.

Another thing to note is that the HTC Amaze 4G’s battery (1730 mAh) is more powerful than that of the Galaxy SII (1850 mAh).  According to HTC, the Amaze is capable for 6 hours of talk time and 11 days standby. It’s just 3 hours of talk time and 10.4 days of standby time for the Galaxy SII.

HTC Amaze 4G’s Price

If you visit Amazon, you’ll find list price: $549.99 (the HTC Amaze 4G) and $599.99 (the Galaxy SII for T-Mobile). The Amaze is a bit cheaper. Amazon also offers $199.99 (varies based on service type) for the Amaze.

Just check out there by yourself (click here), or take a look at the other HTC Android phones in this blog like the T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide which has a great camera ($199.99).
